Here we go, guys. Scientists have proven medical marijuana aids a slew of ailments, there are a bunch of uses for hemp, and now, the word ‘vape‘ has been honored as the word of the year by none other than Oxford Dictionaries – and we should all pat ourselves on the back for this one.

Oxford Dictionaries support their choice with this graph:

LexichronicThe usage of ‘vape’ peaked in April 2014. Image courtesy of Oxford Dictionaries.

As stated on Oyster Mag, the contenders include:
Budtender (noun.)
Contactless (adj.)
Indyfef (n.)
Normcore (n.)
Slacktivism (n.)
Bae (noun.)

Supposedly, the most influential crowd of the dictionaries’ decision is the terrible invention of the e-cig, and I can’t help but think of how vaping to a pot smoker is the furthest from what I like to call the ‘Microsoft Outlook of smoking tobacco‘. But hey, anything beats ‘Bae’ from becoming the most used word, and don’t even get me started on ‘Health Goth’.
