Washington recreational weed shops had only been approved to be open for three days and already pulled in over $148,000 in taxes. Even with the high prices to keep up with the high demand in Seattle, the retail cannabis store Cannabis City has sold out of their entire inventory. Cannabis City sold 11 pounds of weed between their opening at noon on July 8th and end of day on the 11th. They will need to keep their doors closed until July 21, as they need to completely restock their shop.

With more storefront licenses being issued by the Washington State Liquor Control Board, we can expect marijuana prices to come down and balance out during the summer and fall. The amount of money Washington state is raking in now is just the tip of the iceberg and we should expect that number to grow exponentially as more recreational cannabis shops open for business.
