And earlier this year, an Irish man driving an agricultural tractor was found with cannabis and cocaine in his system after being stopped at a routine checkpoint. The man was later spotted when an off-duty officer with the Big Lake Police Department noticed him walking on the roadway and carrying a shotgun. A blood sample was taken and the man booked into jail on a driving while impaired (DWI) charge pending toxicology results. An Ontario man was charged with multiple theft and driving offences last year after consuming weed edibles and leading police on a wild car chase. Deputies located the man walking along the shoulder of Interstate 94.
It didn’t take long for deputies with Minnesota’s Stearns County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) to suspect impairment from alcohol and cannabis was behind a single-vehicle rollover involving a shotgun-wielding driver who refused medical attention.
Two SCSO officers responded at about 6:30 p.m. on June 30 after a 9-1-1 caller reported the man had exited his 2000 Ford Crown Victoria and was insisting he didn’t need medical help because he wasn’t injured. This was despite the man clearly bleeding from injuries, according to the SCSO.
