Heavy drinking in Canada was reported more frequently by those aged 25 to 34 than those 35 and older, the CIHI notes. At 27 per cent, heavy drinking — defined as four or more drinks for women and five or more for men on one occasion, at least once a month — was slightly higher than cannabis use.
