Alberta-based Aurora Cannabis has completed one of the largest single shipments of cannabis Israel has ever received, the company has announced. The shipment, worth nearly $8 million, is part of a supply agreement Aurora signed with Cantek Global Ltd., a Tel Aviv-based medical cannabis company, last year. Miguel Martin, CEO of Aurora, said the latest shipment is part of the company’s strategy “to expand our medical cannabis portfolio in key international markets.” “We are excited about the evolution of the cannabis industry in Israel and commend the Ministry of Health and the Israeli Medical Cannabis Agency for ensuring thoughtful regulation of cannabis, in the best interest of Israeli cannabis patients,” Martin said. Last year, Germany imported a record 10,000 kilograms of medical cannabis. The flower will be processed and co-branded under the Aurora and Cantek labels for the Israeli market, with the potential for additional international market sales.
