Summary

A former U.S. Weetabix factory might as well be renamed the Weedabix factory after yet another cannabis business has shown interest in turning the building into a giant cannabis farm. The state of Massachusetts legalized adult-use cannabis in 2016. The Post Holdings-owned Weetabix factory closed in 2018, eliminating approximately 180 jobs from the region, and was subsequently sold for U$2.5 million (approximately C$3.15 million) in 2020. Shortly thereafter, Worcester Business Journal reported how two other state-licensed cannabis companies — The Hub Craft and Milkmen Cultivation LLC — started making moves to operate out of the facility and create dozens of new jobs.
