Summary

A study commissioned by a licensed cannabis producer claims that 43 per cent of Canadians prefer to buy their weed online, as opposed to in-person at a store. Along with the considerable number of cannabis consumers who are buying their weed online, 16 per cent of respondents said they preferred “reading reviews or recommendations online” before deciding what to buy. The number could mark a 30 per cent increase in enthusiasm for buying weed online when compared to StatsCan’s 2019 figures from the first year of federal legalization. In that survey, just 13 per cent of Canadians expressed a preference for web-based weed sources. The results did show an increased penchant for Canadians to do more independent research before dropping their dollars on doobs.
