Rick Ross launches cannabis cultivar that honours his home county

Rapper Rick Ross has teamed up with High Tolerance, a cannabis brand, to launch his own strain of cannabis called “Collins Avenue.” The name is derived from his hometown of Miami-Dade, a county in southeastern Florida. In 2021, Ross told Forbes that one of his preferred times to smoke is while mowing his lawn at his mansion in Fayetteville, Ga. The rapper also launched a hemp company in 2021 called Hemp Hop and has partnered with Hempacco to roll out a line of smokables, including CBD cigarettes and a hemp blunt rolling paper. According to TMZ, Ross claims that “High Tolerance is the best flower for all the ones who like to blow that good gas.” The cultivar is set to launch on June 1, and Ross joins a long list of rappers, including Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg and Berner, who have entered the cannabis game. Ross previously partnered with Berner and his cannabis company, Cookies, on a 2020 weed line that was also dubbed “Collis Ave.” The lineup featured three cultivars: Collins Ave, Pink Rozay and Lemon Pepper. “I want to be a force within the cannabis industry and bring a superior quality product to the masses, particularly my people in the South,” Ross said at the time.
