A recent intelligence-led operation paid off Friday when officers seized about 100 kilograms of suspected cannabis with a street value of €2 million (almost $3 million) from various parcels at a Dublin premises. The find was the result of a joint operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, notes a statement from Garda, the civil police service in Ireland. Despite not apprehending those responsible for the shipments, there have been plenty of incidents involving weed being shipped from other countries, including Canada and the U.S., to Ireland. Personal possession, without the intent to distribute, will likely result in a person receiving a fine of less than €1,000 ($1,480), according to The Green Fund.
