CBD Oracle, a cannabis consumer research company, reports that 51 of the most popular hemp-derived delta-8 THC products were analyzed for Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC content. Delta-8 products are often described as the less potent THC brother of Delta-9, the cannabis compound that most people equate with getting high. Specifically, about 13 per cent of vape pens had Delta-9 THC, almost 13 per cent of concentrates did and just over 10 per cent of vape cartridges did. One vape pen contained 23 per cent Delta-9 THC, which equates to 77 times above the legal limit, “and the average across all products was 6.6 per cent,” the company reports. A new lab report commissioned by CBD Oracle shows 76 per cent of the tested Delta-8 products derived from hemp and being sold in the U.S. far exceed the 0.3 per cent allowable THC limit.
