Three men in the Philippines have been sentenced to life imprisonment for their role in transporting 6.47 kilograms of cannabis in La Trinidad, the capital of the province of Benguet. The Philippines ranks among the worst places on earth to get caught with cannabis, with potential death penalties for possessing a relatively small amount of the plant. Last year, after a 41-year-old Singaporean man was convicted of importing one kilogram of pot and sentenced to death by hanging, Ziggy Marley called out the island nation’s approach to cannabis.
