The Weedmaps team was excited to participate in the 420 Games first event in Los Angeles, CA held on March 26, 2016 at the Santa Monica Pier. The 420 Games was established to show that cannabis users are NOT lazy, unmotivated or “stoners” and to de-stigmatize the millions who use cannabis in a healthy and responsible lifestyle. Attendees had the choice of either running, walking, biking or boarding 4.20 miles from the North lot at The Santa Monica Pier to Venice Beach and back. Beer Tasting sponsored by Lagunitas was enjoyed after the exercise event along with enlightening music, educational speeches and some comedy stand-up. The Weedmaps team caught up with 420 Games founder Jim McAlpine and retired NFL star Ricky Williams to gain insight on their hopes for the future and health of the cannabis community.
