A 41-year-old man caught last year brazenly wheeling a suitcase and carrying a backpack, both stuffed with weed, at Birmingham New Street rail station in the U.K. has been sentenced to two years and seven months behind bars. By train, in September 2020, a 60-year-old California man travelling by Amtrak train was busted with a suitcase full of cannabis in Illinois. The casual demeanour and what the authorities characterize as subsequent concerning and suspicious behaviour was noticed by station staff who then texted the police. Authorities call bid ‘particularly brazen’ Express & Star reports the luggage was searched following a brief chat, with officers then finding Class B drugs, which include cannabis, in both the suitcase and backpack. And that appears to be the case regardless of whether travel is by air, road, rail or sea.
