The Yukon Liquor Corporation’s Cannabis Yukon website has bowed out of selling cannabis products to citizens in the territory, completing its plan to leave marijuana e-commerce to private licensees. With the announcement, private retailers will now operate all cannabis retail locations, as well as online sales and delivery. Yukon currently lists six cannabis retailers, namely four in Whitehorse and one apiece in Dawson City and in Watson Lake. Citing figures from Statistics Canada, Marijuana Business Daily reported this past August that cannabis sales in Yukon increased 2.2 per cent to $878,000 in June. The website will now be repurposed to provide wholesale purchasing options to licensed retailers in the territory, notes a statement from the government.
