New York Governor Kathy Hochul has announced the state is releasing a new tool that helps cannabis consumers confirm they are attending regulated businesses in advance of pot shops opening their doors. Illegal pot shops in New York State have been in the news lately. Among other factors, inspections consider food temperature control, protecting food from contamination, employee hygiene and handwashing, storage and removal of waste and pest control. The state’s expectation is that legal retail dispensaries are set to begin opening before the end of 2022.
